Screen Printed Punk Patch Details

Iron-on backing Info

  • Iron-on backings are available on all our patches, and make sewing patches on way fuckin easier. They also add a little extra support, limiting the cotton-canvas patches from fraying too deep, and helping your shitty punk stitches survive regular abuse and the washing machine. (yes, you can and should wash your battle jackets and crust pants you smelly fuckers.)

  • We generally use “HeatnBond: lite” on small patches, and “HeatnBond: ultra hold” on back patches.

    • “Lite” version doesn’t much effect the flexibility of a patch, and after several washes the patches will have the same flexibility of raw no backing patches.

    • “Ultra hold” sticks much better to thicker fabrics like heavy weight denim, and adds a little bit of stiffness to the patch. After several washes patches will become close to their original raw flexibility, but just stiff enough to make them a little more wrinkle resistant.

  • If you want iron-on backings for your patches we have pre-cut sizes available. Alternatively you can just get your own roll of HeatnBond, cuz it’s cheap and easy to find.

  • Iron-on backings are never meant to replace sewing patches on, and ironed on patches that aren’t sewn, will eventually start peeling off.

This is what you can expect the patches to look like after being washed several times
